An international conference on good governance and social and environmental responsibility is to be held in Oslo on the 28th and 29th of March. Invited speakers include the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus and Achim Steiner, Executive Director of UNEP. The Oslo conference aims to take the ongoing debate on business and sustainability even further.
01/02/2007 :: Over the past decade, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) agenda has moved centre stage within the business community.
The Oslo conference on good governance and social and environmental responsibility will address a broad range of sustainability issues in the global market place: human rights, decent work standards, environmental and climate change, corruption and corporate governance.
Can we continue to operate as we have, or do we need to think and act in radically different ways?
The Oslo conference will be a platform for an integrated approach comprising key players from business, government, academia, trade-unions and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
Top experts in the field will be speaking at the conference. It will be an innovative and challenging event, with focus on some of the most urgent issues facing us today. It will also provide an excellent environment for networking.
The conference will take place 28-30 March 2007 in Oslo, Norway.
The conference is hosted by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Norwegian Ministry of the Environment and the City of Oslo.
